DIY Telegram Idea: Giant Googly Eye Heart for Valentine's Day

It's not quite Fri yet (boooo), then I wanted to transport a little pick-me-up your way in the form of a giant googly eye V-Day eye telegram. You can even sing or trip the light fantastic if your (googly eye) heart desires.

The concept is very similar to the googly eye Christmas tree I made in December (complete with Mariah Carey music video here). And basically consists of sticking googly eyes to random items to make people smile. BUT this fourth dimension, we made the random matter that information technology was stuck on. And and so turned it into a telegram. Big difference. Haha.

Anyway, it was actually fun to make. So, I idea I'd share the process in case you lot desire to make your ain and surprise someone you love with an in-person gift / entertaining human activity. 🙂 Here's what you'll need…

Materials:

giant googly eyes with pasty backs (mine are from Amazon)
48×72 foam cadre board
acrylic paint OR business firm paint
paint brush OR paint roller
box cutter or cut blade
pen or marker

Instructions:

one. Start by free-handing a big middle on foam core board, taking upwardly as much of the board as possible, so yous can get the biggest heart possible. The bigger, the better.

2. Then, cut out the middle shape with a box cutter or sharp blade.

three. Paint the heart on both sides with 2 coats of pigment. We used house paint and a roller because it goes on thicker and faster that fashion, but you lot can also use acrylic paint and a pigment castor. Wait for it to dry out completely.

4. Determine where you lot desire the google eyes to go. Then, remove the pasty backs and stick them to the heart. Done!
